Michaela Choy is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, specializing in therapy services for couples, families and individuals.

 

Michaela received a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Management from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She went on to pursue her Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the Family Institute at Northwestern University.

 

Michaela has significant clinical experience working with couples, families, and individuals seeking help with depression, anxiety, relational conflict, emotional and physical intimacy issues, infidelity, and communication issues. She is a trained facilitator of PREPARE/ENRICH, which is an effective assessment tool used in couple therapy. Additionally, Michaela received specialized training in a crisis intervention model that emphasizes compassion and support to those struggling with emotional and physical abuse, LGBTQIA+ issues and suicidality during her time as a crisis hotline worker.

 

Michaela believes that collaboration and a strong therapeutic relationship are necessary components to therapy. She draws on a strengths-based approach and utilizes the best parts of different therapy models to best meet clients’ needs. She believes it is an honor to work with clients in a therapeutic capacity and promotes an environment that is both culturally sensitive and safe for client’s to be their authentic selves.

 

Michaela’s strongest interests in therapy include workings with couples who seek stronger emotional and physical bonds, strengthening trust and repairing after infidelity, working with emerging adults and families seeking stronger cohesion and connection.

Rachel D. Miller, AMFT

Rachel D. Miller is a Masters-level Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in therapy services for families, couples, individuals, children, and adolescents.

Rachel holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Phoenix. She earned her Master of Arts in Couple and Family Therapy from Adler University (Chicago, IL).

During her training, Rachel provided therapy services to families, individuals, children, and adolescents, working extensively with family conflict, relational and communication issues, life transitions, trauma, PTSD, and domestic violence survivor recovery. In addition, Rachel facilitated the Will County Project Protect program for divorcing parents.

Prior to earning her Masters degree, Rachel spent nearly a decade providing adult sex education for individuals and couples throughout the Chicagoland area. She is passionate about helping clients navigate individual and relational issues that get in the way of the sexual relationship they desire. Rachel is poly and LGBTQIA affirmative, along with being professional affiliate of KAP through NCFS.

Rachel believes in working collaboratively with her clients, providing a safe, culturally sensitive, and encouraging space to explore personal, relational, and familial concerns. She aids clients in discovering, and achieving personal and relational goals through customized therapeutic approaches based on their unique experiences and situation.

Her clinical interests focus on relational issues, intimacy concerns, and family developmental transitions, particularly around adolescence, young adult launching and divorce.
